Mr. Mohamed Yonis Hassan. Chief Executive Officer (CEO), SOMGREEN

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SOMGREEN is a seasoned development and humanitarian professional with over 10 years of progressive leadership experience in project management, disaster response, agricultural development, and youth programming. He has led and coordinated multi-sector initiatives across Somalia and Canada, working with international organizations, government institutions, and local communities to design and implement sustainable, community-driven solutions.

 

He brings extensive expertise in project design, coordination, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), stakeholder engagement, and capacity building, with a proven record of managing complex humanitarian and development programs in challenging environments. His portfolio includes leadership roles in education, WASH, protection, peacebuilding, livelihoods, and emergency preparedness programs, ensuring strong compliance with donor standards and institutional accountability. He has also served as a technical advisor supporting government ministries in institutional strengthening and organizational capacity development.

 

Academically, he holds a Master’s Degree in Project Management, a Master’s Degree in International Relations and Diplomacy, and a Postgraduate Degree in International Business Management, in addition to a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management. He is fluent in English and Somali and brings strong cross-cultural experience across Africa and North America. His work is dedicated to empowering vulnerable communities, strengthening institutions, and advancing sustainable development across Somalia through SOMGREEN.
